Brain Haemorrhage and High Blood Pressure

Today I received one of my known patient of High Blood Pressure with
complaints of severe headache and vomiting. He was admitted in hospital and managed with
antihypertensive drugs accordingly. We did his CT scan and found a brain haemorrage in frontal
lobe. He was reffered to Lahore General Hospital for intervention. But he, unfortunately, could not
reach hospital and died on the way. Now why I write this all story here. This patient was already taking my medicine
for high blood pressure for last one year. But for the last 2 months he was not taking any
medicine. Result was that his blood pressure was not under control for the last 2 months. He just
ignored his medicine and symptoms. and you all see what happened to him. I am not going to discuss here signs and symptoms of brain haemorrhage here, I
just want to clarify here the importance of blood pressure medicine. Dont omit your blood pressure
medicine without advice of your doctor. Blood pressure has many serious complications including
life threatening brain haemorrhage. You should take your medicine regularly to prevent yourself
from any such complication.
