Healthy eating is the area of focus of the diets aiming for lowering cholesterol levels, and not just the weight reduction, that is why the diet plan for lowering cholesterol levels remains the same irrespective of the individual. This is different from the diet plans for weight reduction, in which the plans vary according to the person who formulated, so different diet plans are devised for different people – one may work for one group of people but not for the others and same can be said for the other diet plans.

Simple foods to lower Cholesterol

Low density lipoprotein (LPL) is known as the bad cholesterol because it accelerates the process of atherosclerosis which causes the heart diseases and stroke. Beef, which is a red meat, is richer in LPL and saturated fats than any other variety of meat. Thus red meat must be replaced with chicken and pork, which are leaner and have lower concentration of cholesterol. Omega-3 fatty acid is very beneficial for the cardiovascular system as it lowers the cholesterol levels in the blood. These are found in affluence in fish and salmon and tuna are best suited for those who don’t like to give up the consumption of meat and don’t like fish, as these have the same texture and almost the same taste as that of meat.

Fiber helps in digestion and slows down the absorption of the cholesterol into the blood. Try to substitute the processed carbohydrates with whole-wheat bread and pasta, which have less calories and saturated fats. Best natural ways to lower cholesterol and consume a lot of fiber is eating fresh fruits and vegetables.

But the medicine prescribed by the doctor can always be used as a last resort, but only if it is prescribed by the doctor.

It is always difficult for the people to avoid enjoying their favorite epicurean, which is usually destructive for health. People often cannot restrict themselves to the healthy diet, which is often not very fruitful at the beginning and diet plan becomes unsatisfactory for the people. But patience is required and these diet plans have been shown to cause significant positive effects on the health of those people who have adapted to these. But there is always some relaxation and you can enjoy your favorite foods occasionally, provided you remain under the limit.
